Campus Life in St. Kitts The International
University of Nursing (IUON) campus on St. Kitts has a vibrant atmosphere providing a collegial environment among the students, faculty, and staff members all dedicated to nursing education. More than just intellectual stimulation, the campus provides a home for those involved in IUON. There is also a wealth of diversity, opening new learning vistas and insight into other cultures.
Our faculty members dedicate 100% of their time to the students. In fact, the
faculty and staff members provide a level of support that goes well beyond that of most typical schools; everyone who is part of IUON forms a community within the campus. Community members provide physical and emotional support and caring - creating a better living environment for themselves and the island population.
AthleticsStudents are encouraged to take advantage of the various activities on the island, including golf, basketball, tennis, jogging, snorkeling, and other outdoor sports. Residents of St. Kitts relish the natural beauty of their island - perfect sandy beaches with warm clear waters, rich tropical forests, and cloud-topped volcanic peaks. The campus supports a variety of organizations and clubs based on student interests and needs. Extracurricular activities include a student newsletter, student government, social services, and cultural groups. 
St. Kitts offers a diversity of culture and a treasure-trove of historic sites to explore. There are also special events throughout the year, including an annual colorful Carnival, and a Music Festival featuring salsa, soul, soca, samba, reggae, jazz, and gospel. Health and Counseling ServicesThere is a hospital in Basseterre, as well as health clinics around the
island. IUON has nursing staff available on campus. All IUON students are required to maintain health insurance coverage, which will be provided through the school. The campus has a drug-free policy. Support Service Academic concerns, poor health, stress, or other problems may negatively impact the educational process. IUON contributes to student success by addressing these or any other issues or concerns. Support
services for the campus community are offered in the following areas: Academic Advising When attending IUON, students become part of a community. Each student is assigned a faculty advisor. Advisors are available to help students navigate the educational program and ensure they have a sufficient competency level with the material. Academic advisors can also assist students in determining future career goals in the nursing field. Health Care
Nursing staff is available on the IUON campus. Nurses may provide students and community members with care or referral for additional medical services. |
