Transfer to U.S. AffiliatesAfter completing the
first three semesters in St.Kitts, students transfer to the United States to complete their theory and clinical training at one of International University of Nursing's (IUON) affiliated institutions. At these U.S. schools, students continue their second-year nursing education, building on the information and skills gained during their initial semesters on the island. This second year also provides advanced clinical aspects of nursing, as practiced in the U.S. today.
While in the U.S., IUON students become part of the U.S. affiliate's student body and are dually admitted in both schools. Students enrolled in an affiliate college are subject to all the regulations, and enjoy the rights
and privileges of all nursing students, as defined by each U.S. affiliate college's program. All of the affiliated U.S. colleges are accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC), Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), the appropriate institutional accrediting bodies and applicable boards of nursing. Student preference will be considered, where possible, when IUON makes U.S. affiliate assignments. Upon graduation, students
receive dual diplomas conferring their Associate or Bachelor's of Science in Nursing Degree. One diploma is issued by IUON; the other is issued by the U.S. affiliate. IUON is currently affiliated with colleges in Florida, Oklahoma, Kentucky and New Jersey. Negotiations are ongoing with potential affiliates in California, Michigan and Puerto Rico. Contact our Admissions Department for further updates concerning our affiliations. The following schools are affiliated with IUON:
- Seminole State College (Oklahoma)
- Blue Grass Community and Technical College (Kentucky)
- Jefferson Community and Technical College (Kentucky)
- West Kentucky Community and Technical College
- University of Turabo (Puerto Rico)
- Essex County College (New Jersey)
