Morehead State University
After completing the required semesters in St.Kitts, students transistion to the United States or Canada to complete their theory and clinical training at one of IUON's affiliated teaching institutions.
At these schools, students continue their final year of nursing education, building on the information and skills gained during their initial semesters at the IUON campus on St. Kitts. This final year also provides advanced clinical aspects of nursing, as practiced in the U.S. or Canada today.
Partner Schools
The following schools are IUON partner schools:
Bachelor Program Partner Schools
Transition to a Partner School
IUON assigns students to the partner schools. When possible, student preference will be considered as these assignments are made.
IUON students become part of the partner school's student body and are dually admitted in both IUON and the partner school. Students enrolled in a partner school are subject to all the policies, and enjoy the rights and privileges of all nursing students, as defined by each partner school’s program. Students may be required to purchase additional textbooks, software, and/or enroll in courses needed in order to successfully complete the degree requirements at the partner school which consists of 2-3 semesters and possibly a "transition semester" depending on the partner school. All of the U.S. partner schools are accredited by either the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), and the appropriate institutional accrediting bodies and/or applicable boards of nursing. All of the Canadian partner schools are approved by their respective provincial College of Registered Nurses, i.e. College of Registered Nurses of British Columbia (CRNBC) and accredited by the Canadian Association of Schools of Nursing (CASN).
Degrees Conferred
Upon graduation, students receive a diploma conferring the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree. One diploma is issued by IUON, St. Kitts; the other is issued by the partner school.
